What is mGuard MachineWatch?
mGuard MachineWatch is Remote Condition Monitoring for your mobile and fixed industrial mining assets. MachineWatch is predesigned and preconfigured to run advanced analytics in real-time as data streams in from the asset, these analytics are used to identify and notifying your team(s) about developing conditions that could result in decreased performance, failure of machines and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for tracking operational and reliability related performance.
These analytics are developed by Monico Subject Matter Experts and tailored specifically to the industry, the types of machinery and uses of those machines in the particularly industries. For Example, a CAT Engine powering a Haul Truck in mining industry will experience different loads and demands on it that say the same engine running 24 hours a day in a bank of engines powering a compression station in oil and gas industry.
Monico has developed over 30k+ analytics; some used to create composite data channels for use in complex algorithms to determine things such as potential cylinder failure, spark plug failures, and even component system faults/failures such as hydraulic systems, (e.g., brakes).
What does it do?
mGuard MachineWatch provides operations, maintenance teams; managers, supervisors, technicians, advanced insights into how their industrial mining assets are operating. Along with these insights; provided through advanced notification system, are maintenance recommendations. Maintenance recommendations are suggestions for things to look into on a particular asset; that may be leading to a fault condition, decreased performance, or even catastrophic failure of systems.
Because mGuard MachineWatch is built upon the MonicoLive platform, data collected from the machines is stored, catalogued with time stamps and through the dashboards or visualization environment data can be reviewed both in real-time (live data) or historically.
This ability to review data associated with a machine provides a valuable environment for technicians to ‘go back’ and review what was developing or what happened on a particular machine through charts, graphs, tables and more for a human visualization experience of the machine data being generated by the asset.
Provides Advanced Insights
mGuard MachineWatch provides a tool to enhance condition-based maintenance practices by providing insights prior to full blown development of conditions that may lead to decreased performance, shutdowns, or even catastrophic failures. mGuard MachineWatch provides screens for tracking/monitoring OEM fault codes, warnings and Monico Defined Events (MDEs); which are KPIs developed to monitor certain aspects of a machine’s performance.
With the combination of OEM alerts/faults and the MDEs, technicians have advanced heads-up information on how the machine is performing. These insights can be used to enhance maintenance planning schedules, determine what should be replaced, or serviced during either routine maintenance checks and/or emergency maintenance planning. In addition, these insights can help reduce time spent and money spent attempting to determine what is causing a machine to perform poorly by replacing parts or components that may not necessarily be contributing to the overall problems or decreases in performance.
Provides and addresses; data storage, analytics processing environment
With the mGuard MachineWatch solution being built on top of the cloud hosted MonicoLive platform, customers do not need to plan, develop or deploy or manage data archival systems, it’s all included as a
part of the mGuard solutions. Many organizations/businesses do not want to either add their mobile machine data into existing systems (e.g., AVEVA Pi) and or do not have the environment or expertise to spin up these environments. This is where deploying a solution such as mGuard MachineWatch can get you up and running quickly with little overhead and start getting the insights from machines much more effectively in a time and cost saving manner.
Increases visibility into Operations and Performance Metrics
Many customers of Monico are beginning to utilize the machine data not just for maintenance planning and servicing of machines but to track and monitor operational performance metrics. With the data being collected from these assets; KPIs such as volume of materials being moved, driving performance (braking, acceleration, etc.), load demands on systems such as struts and chassis can be tracked/monitored, road conditions can be monitored for road maintenance and much more.
OEM Agnostic – Providing an environment to manage mining assets in one place
Many OEMs have solutions for providing maintenance insights and will work with mining customer through service contracts to monitor/manage these systems, however, these solutions are typically tied to their own machines and most mining operations have a mixed fleet of machines/equipment. mGuard MachineWatch provides an environment for bringing all these different OEMs into one ‘single pane of glass’ concept of management.
